WORLD BOOK DAY 2019

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Because of recent events, World Book Day will be celebrated on Thursday 4^th April. Your child should be bringing home a book token which can be used in participating bookshops until 31^st March. A list of this year’s books can be found here: http://www.worldbookday.com/books.

In the lead up to World Book Day, we will be running a ‘Caught Reading’ competition. Children should email a photograph of themselves reading in an unusual place to their teacher or to mcinnesb1@hwbcymru.net. Alternatively, photographs (size A5 or smaller) can be printed and brought to school. Prizes for the most original photographs will be given on World Book Day.

As the theme of World Book Day is ‘Share a Story’ we would love it if family members could come into school to read a story to their child’s class. Please contact the appropriate teacher if you can do this.

On World Book Day, we invite your child to come to school dressed as a character from a book. Your child’s class teacher will have discussed this with the class.
