Christmas Concert Dates

Hi all,

Apologies for delay but we now have the dates for the Xmas Concerts. These are Thursday 12th December (2pm) and Friday 13th December 9.30am. Please look out for parent mail communications. Children can wear Xmas jumpers or Xmas themed clothing.

Looking forward to next term, we will be looking at the human body and wondered if anyone works in the field of health that would be willing to discuss their jobs with the children. If you can help, please email myself or Miss Fry. Diolch and Thanks!

Jinglebell Rock

Ting a ling a ling

I wish it could be Christmas everyday

We will also be performing this poem. Please help your child to learn the yellow highlighted sections (unless they have a solo line).

Five little reindeer playing in the snow,

The first one said, “Can you see my nose glow?”

The second one said, “Listen to me sing!”

The third one said, “I can hear the sleigh bells ring.”

The fourth one said, “Let’s all eat some pie!”

“No!” said the fifth one, “It’s time to fly!”

That’s when their magical work began.

And as they flew, their merry bells rang.

The snow started falling, sparkling white

As five little reindeer flew out of sight.

This week in Cowbridge Class:

Monday:

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Spelling test and P.E.

Thursday:

Friday: UpBeat Dance P.E.

Important things to know

PE:

On PE days (Wednesdays and Fridays), please come to school wearing your PE kit. Make sure you have trainers on or have brought trainers to change into for the lesson. PE kit should be joggers, shorts or leggings that allow you to move, run and jump easily, and a T-shirt. On cold days, make sure you have a jumper too.

On all other school days, please wear your school uniform.

Reading:

Children should read with a grown -up for 5-10 minutes every day. This is the very best way to improve your reading skills. Reading should mostly be your Home Reading Book that you take from school, but can be a shared story, a comic or a book you have borrowed from school. Just read!

Home Reading Books:

Everyone will have a home reading book and reading log. You can change this book on any day, as soon as you have read it. Please fill in the reading log with your grown-up.

You may also borrow any book at any level from the class libraries. The school library is available for children to borrow books. It is open on some lunch breaks and usually on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school.

Spellings!

Please help the children learn their spelling each week.

Spelling tests will  be every Wednesday.  You will have a spelling group and a set of words for your group. Practising your spellings for a few minutes every day makes them much easier to remember than one big learning session on the night before the test. Every week, as well as your spelling list, you will see a link for spelling games underneath the list. These links will take you to games you can play that help you to test your spelling knowledge.

There will be no more spelling tests this term.

Please help your child by reading with them every day for the rest of term and over the holidays.

PE and Games Lessons

P.E. will be on a FRIDAY. Children should wear school uniform on every day except Friday when they can come in their P.E. kits.

Kit must be sports clothing: shorts or joggers, trainers and a loose T-shirt. Jumpers are a good idea in the colder months.
