Meet the Year 2 Team!

Routines:

Monday - Spelling test

              - PE Day - Please wear PE kit to school

Tuesday  - New spelling words are posted on the website (for test the following Monday)

Thursday -  Wellbeing PE with Mrs Powell (from WC 2nd June) - Please wear kit to school.

*There will be no Wellbeing PE sessions for the Summer 1 term as it is Year 2's turn to have 'Studio Sessions' with Mr McInnes*

Reading / Darllen: We actively encourage regular reading both in school and at home.  Either Mrs Bees, Mrs Palios-Hoult or Mrs Francis will read individually with each child every week, or more frequently where additional support is needed.  We will send a reading book home which is a level below the book that they read in school so that they can practise reading for fluency and comprehension with you.  Please return their book to school once they have read it and we will swap it on a Friday to go home over the weekend- we do not have specific days for specific children.

Spring Term Context

Our current context is 'The Great Travel Adventure'.

As part of this topic we will look at how and why people travel.  We will look at transport now, in the past and what it might look like in the future.  We will investigate how people find their way using maps.  We will investigate the forces needed for vehicles to move, float and fly. We will finish the topic by designing a vehicle for the future.
