We are delighted to inform you that as of Thursday this week, 21st March, our Junior children will be returning to Lansdowne building. We extend again a huge thanks to Ysgol Hamdryad for looking after us so well.
Thankfully, works are nearing completion on the school buildings. We have been able to move foundation phase back into their own building this afternoon. Work is nearing completion in KS2 and we will update you on a permanent move back to Landowne early next week as we need to ensure there is adequate time to move everything back and ensure the school is cleaned ready for the children.
We thank you so much for your patience and flexibility during this unforseen set of circumstances.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Kind regards,
Michelle Kinsey and Catherine Cooper
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Because of recent events, World Book Day will be celebrated on Thursday 4th April. Your child should be bringing home a book token which can be used in participating bookshops until 31st March. A list of this year’s books can be found here: http://www.worldbookday.com/books.
In the lead up to World Book Day, we will be running a ‘Caught Reading’ competition. Children should email a photograph of themselves reading in an unusual place to their teacher or to mcinnesb1@hwbcymru.net. Alternatively, photographs (size A5 or smaller) can be printed and brought to school. Prizes for the most original photographs will be given on World Book Day.
As the theme of World Book Day is ‘Share a Story’ we would love it if family members could come into school to read a story to their child’s class. Please contact the appropriate teacher if you can do this.
On World Book Day, we invite your child to come to school dressed as a character from a book. Your child’s class teacher will have discussed this with the class.
We look forward to seeing all the creative costumes on the day!
To confirm, the arrangements for travelling to Ysgol Hamadryad remain in place for this week. Our pupils have behaved in an exemplary manner, as commented by Ysgol Hamadryad staff on Friday. We are extremely proud and would like to thank them and their families for supporting us as we get the building back to working order.
See you all tomorrow.
