Fractions continued...

Warm Up - Using your knowledge of fractions from yesterdays lesson have a go at playing 'Build a Fraction' - Start at level 1 and see how far you can get. Click the link below to play -

Main Lesson - Today we are going to be learning about non unit fractions.

A non unit fraction is a fractions where the numerator (the top number) is greater than 1.

Now that you understand what a non unit fraction is I would like you to have a go at making your own non unit fractions using lego!

REMEMBER - When you are making your fractions that each part must be the same size or equal to each other. So you'll need to make sure that your lego parts are the same shape and size before making your fractions.

Look at the picture below as an example (the picture below shows a mixture of unit and non unit fractions but I would like you to focus on just non unit fractions)

Once you have finished, take a photo of the non unit fractions you have made!
